Young Readers Challenge- COMPLETED as of Feb 27th, 2011

Becky is hosting the Young Readers Challenge again in 2011. She writes:

Read 12 Children's Books
Think of this as referring to the "E" (Easy) and "J" (Juvenile or Junior) sections of the library.
You do not have to have a blog.

No reviews are required.

A list is not required. Choose what you like. Choose as you go. Or plan it all out now. Whatever you want.

To join, go to, the Young Readers Challenge.

Here are the books I chose to read:

1.  Corduroy by Don Freeman

2.  Ferdinand by Munro Leaf
This was a very sweet story.  In my opinion the author is trying to convey that idea that one must stop fighting, stop searching, and just enjoy some time relaxing and smelling the flowers!  Very good book.

3.  Pig Pig by David McPhail

4.  Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans

5.  Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter
This is one of my childhood favorites!

6.  Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney
This is a very touching little story.  Actually one of my all time favorites now, about finding one's purpose and making sure to leave something beautiful.  Loved it!

7.  Who Will Bell the Cat - an Aesop Fable

8.  The Little Red Hen - English fable

9.  The Fox and the Stork - Aesop Fable

10.  Chicken Little - English Fable

11.  The Boy and the Goat - Sweedish Folktale

12.  The Pancake - Norwegian Folk Tale

Since I have a four year old, completing this challenge was quite easy, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.  It's always nice to escape into a fairytale!
